I'm using Cablevision IO service in NJ with a Scientific Atlantic Explorer
4200. The service really sucks! Tiled slow motion pictures, complete
freezeups , no data available , no channel guide etc. Is anybody else having
these problems, when I call for service the people are very nice but they
act like these are isolated incidents and I don't think they are. At least 3
or 4 times a week I have to unplug the box and wait for a reload, sometimes
this takes hours. They insist on sending someone to my house , but I don't
think the problem is here but with their system, any comments?

The symptoms you describe could be caused by distortion, low signal or bad
connectors in your house or your neighborhood. If the problems are as severe
as you say, it is unlikely to be a system wide problem, so you will probably
need to have a trouble call to fix it, especially if your analog channels
(the ones below channel 100) are bad as well (snowy, lines in pictures,
etc.)

If the problems you describe were system-wide, or even more localized
such as within your local node, Cablevision CSRs would know based on
the number of trouble calls received from your neighbors. It doesn't
sound as if that's happening therefore the most logical conclusion to
draw would be these problems exist within or just outside your home.
As Mike Rush already suggested, you really do need a service call.
