Edit DCT5100 channel list or guide?

I just got Comcast Digital Plus, with the Motorola DCT5100 HD decoder. I
only subscribe to about half of the available channels and I am only
interested in about a third of the ones I do subscribe to. Channel
surfing is bad enough, but at least that can be addressed with the
Favorites feature. But scrolling through that pitiful excuse for a
programming guide with 200 channels I have absolutely no interest in is
unacceptable. I am giving very serious consideration to dumping digital
cable all together and going back to my HD-OTA receiver because of this
problem and the generally lousy user interface of the DCT5100.

According to Comcast, there is no way to edit the channel listing or the
guide to remove the channels I don't get or am not interested in. I find
this VERY difficult to believe, as my last 3 televisions, 2 VCRs, TiVo
and RePlayTV all had this capability. So I want to check if there is a
key combo, hack or other trick to allow users to remove channels they
don't want from the guide, before I cancel digital service. Is there any
prospect of Comcast or Motorola offering this function on the DCT5100 or
another HD decoder in the near future?

TIA,
Dan

Have not heard of that. I hate the ads. Had to by a big screen just to
read the program guide.

The 6200 is no better, but is differently.

What, it doesn't have parental lockouts?

Adding a channel to the lock-out list doesn't remove it from the
programming guide, it just prevents the sound and picture from being
displayed, the same way it handles channels you don't subscribe to.
